How to Use This Calculator

4 simple steps

1

Choose direction

"What I Receive" shows fees on incoming payments. "What to Charge" finds the exact amount to request.

2

Enter amount

In receiving mode, enter the amount being sent. In charging mode, enter what you want to end up with.

3

Select type

Pick the transaction type to apply the correct fee rate. Use G&S for personal sales, Business for regular sellers.

4

Compare & decide

Check the comparison table to see fees across all types. Business Profile is cheapest for most commercial amounts.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Save money and stay protected

Use "What to Charge" mode

Adding 2.99% to your price doesn't cover the fee — the percentage applies to the higher total. Use reverse calculation.

Business Profile saves money

Business Profile (1.9% + $0.10) beats G&S (2.99%) for transactions over ~$9.17. Switch for regular sales.

Don't send via credit card

Credit card P2P costs 3%. Use bank or debit instead — completely free. No purchase protection on P2P either way.

Always use G&S for purchases

Paying via P2P to dodge fees removes Purchase Protection. Venmo may also freeze accounts misusing P2P for business.
